It is with great joy that we are announcing the launch of an Instagram and TikTok account.
In our mission to preserve and promote the appreciation of Greene County’s history, we are excited to expand our social media presence. Through digital journalism, video recording, blogging, and more, we will be utilizing these additional platforms for education and entertainment. We welcome the public and future generations to engage and continue the cycle of making history last. Feel free to utilize these additional outlets to ask questions, get involved, and stay curious.
Lastly, we wish to remind everyone of some upcoming dates. More information regarding these events will be published across all platforms, including Facebook, so keep an eye out!
The Mega Cash Bash will be taking place on Sunday, August 2nd, 2026, at the Greene County Fairgrounds from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Tickets are $30 each. There is a limited number of tickets remaining that can be purchased. Today, July 31st, is the last day to buy them here at the Greene County Historical Society. More are available at the Eagles Club located on High Street. To assist with setting up for the Cash Bash, we will be closed on Saturday, August 1st. However, we hope to see you there on Sunday!
On Saturday, September 12th, 2026, we are welcoming back Spirit Walk Paranormal for Almshouse Paracon II! The event is free to the public from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a collection of vendors with handcrafted goods, paranormal teams, collectables, and more. Several amazing guest speakers will be sharing their experience about the paranormal. At 8 p.m., we are hosting a paranormal investigation until midnight. Our 55th annual Harvest Festival is on Saturday and Sunday, October 10th and 11th. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, we welcome delicious food, several unique vendor booths, and engaging demonstrations and reenactments. Be sure to stop by for fun and educational activities, as well as free self-guided tours of the museum.
And lastly, a reminder of our typical daily hours: stop by and visit every Wednesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Thank you for the support, and we hope to see you in attendance at our upcoming events!
